campus. They will visit our work sites over a 2-3 day period. An AFT Membership
Specialist will be with them. The date is to be determined.

Human Resources is initiating
a new orientation procedure for new employees. All new employees will start
work on a Tuesday and will be given a full campus orientation on that day.
Included in the orientations will be an informational presentation for the
Union. The Union representatives will be Delfina Medina-Maloney and Catherine
Werst.
5.
Delfina has proposed
that the Sno Cone Machine owned by CCCUE be offered to ASCC for their use. We
would give them usage at a discounted rate if they would store the machine. All
members voted in favor of offering ASCC the machine to store and use.
6.
Delfina presented
information on The CFT Women’s Conference on October 12 and 13, 2001 in San

a copy of the flyer.
7.
Budget & Planning –
Ahnawake noted that during a recent Budget & Planning Meeting information
was distributed indicating that there is a $10,000 surplus in the
Self-insurance Fund. Mike Hargett noted that these funds might be used for
lowering premiums. That decision is yet to be made.
8.
Calendar Committee –
Eric McDonald presented the options for the 2002-03 school year.
1. February holiday options are either one 4-day weekend
or two 3-day weekends. Which would staff prefer?
2. Spring Break – The options are April 14 – 18 or April
21 - 25. Paso Robles Unified is going with April 14 – 18. If we choose that
week the Board Holiday would be April 18 and Easter is on the 20th.
3. Faculty Union is negotiating a 16-week semester. How
will that impact classified staff? **Note – this was presented as information
only – the change in semester has not been agreed upon by either party as yet.
Please
contact Eric to let him know which options you would prefer so he can take that
information back to the Committee.
9.
